Bob Kapeller Memorial Tournament 2022

Summary

The Bob Kapeller Memorial Tournament (originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 23, 2022) was rescheduled for March 2, 2022 due to a rainout the previous week at the Big League Dreams Sports Park in Perris, CA.  This event, hosted by Menifee Valley Upper Division Senior Softball, honored the disabled veterans and members of our armed forces (both past and present) for their service, dedication, and sacrifices for our country.

This year, profits will go to the “4 Paws 4 Patriots” charity which provides service dogs training and equipment for disabled American veterans.

Over 300 players, family, and friends attended this year’s festivities.
24 softball games, a Home Run Derby, and a 50-50 raffle were all part of the day’s activities.

 

Tournament Games 

16 teams competed in the four-division round-robin tournament.
The division champions were: 
60 Division – Samurai 65M
65 Division – Weakend Warriors 65AAA
70 Division – Mustangs 70AAA
75 Division – Franklin Loan 70AA

 

Home Run Derby

Joe Jennings won the Home Run Derby in the 60-64 division;
Jack Brunschmid in the 70+ division.
8 players participated in this event.

 

The Raffle

50-50 raffle.

100% of the net profit from the tournament goes to “4 Paws 4 Patriots” — $2,700
