Baranick (SB); R. Barnhart (RB); J. Hansell (JH); E. Rushing (ER); G. Stevenson (GS)<br \/>\nGuest:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>H. Alberts (HA); C. Yap (CY)<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>4 New Players Tryout<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">a. The Board met at Wheatfield Park to try out 4 potential Monday league players.<br \/>\nThe potential new players were Jerry Harkey; Bill Loard; Marvin (Mac) McWhorter, and Bill Olson.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">b. Each player ran 1\/2- 3\/4 speed from home to 2<sup>nd<\/sup> base; fielded grounders in the infield and threw to first base; fielded balls in the outfield and threw to 2<sup>nd<\/sup> base; and batted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">c.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>After the tryouts, the Board convened to Archibald&#8217;s to rate the new players and conduct a few items of business.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. 2023 Fall Season \u2013 Managers<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">a. Other than receiving a volunteer from a player willing to serve as an assistant to a manager, we&#8217;ve had no response from players volunteering to manage.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">b. The Board concluded that we would send another email to players indicating that we need two managers, and that we would cite the options the Board would consider if no one stepped up.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Subsequent to the Board meeting, on 7\/30\/29, JH prepared an email on this topic to be sent to all players.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Email sent same day.)<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MINUTES MVUDSS BOARD MEETING 7\/29\/23\u00a0 IN ATTENDANCE:\u00a0 S.
